- Cook at home
- Avoid Packaged Foods
- Avoid too much refined sugar
- Trade refined grains for whole grains
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables (Plant a garden)
- Teach your kids to cook and use different ingredients
- Read labels and reject what you don't understand
- Choose food grown and raised close to home
- Try new foods
- Learn to love drinking water
- Serve the same food to your family and friends that you serve to yourself
- Shop the perimeter of the grocery store where the fresh, whole foods are
- Eat less sodium
- Avoid flavored milk. It has more sugar than soda.
- Use fresh herbs and spices
- Exercise, keep moving and eat healthy.
